A week of actions outing ANZ as a climate criminal corporation started Tuesday in Wellington, kicking off a week of demonstrations around the islands of Aotearoa NZ.
ANZ bank finances Australian mining company Bathurst Resources.
ANZ is the last bank in New Zealand to still fund coal mining in 2025.
Bathurst want to mine the uniquely special Denniston Plateau, home of the great spotted kiwi and many other endangered species.
The events are organised by a coalition of cooperating climate action organisations including Climate Liberation Aotearoa, 350 Aotearoa, and others.
In Wellington Fridays for Future Te Upoko o te Ika also joined forces with Climate Action and Resistance Club VUW.
